Silk Naturals' New Lippies!

Karen released 12 new lippies last week, but I was good and only ordered 4. ;) Hey! It was for a good cause. Karen will be donating a portion of the proceeds to the National Wildlife Federation to assist with the Gulf Coast cleanup.

I also got the Kiss Foaming Cleanser and an empty 50 ml foaming bottle.

I got Innocent, Azalea, Heirloom, and Wistaria. Plus, they sent me a free sample of Honeysuckle.

Innocent is a pretty sheer soft pink with just a bit of lavender. It's packaged in a new container, which is slightly larger than the old tubes they used for their liquid wand glosses. Azalea is a rich vivid raspberry pink color. Not too bright, but still bold. Heirloom is a lovely warm shade of light rosy pink with a subtle copper sheen. I LOVE IT! Wistaria is a shimmery lilac pink shade, similar to Innocent in color. And last but not the least... Honeysuckle. I'll admit it isn't something I would've picked from the site description and swatch ("nearly orange"), but I'm glad they sent me a sample of it. When I first put it on my lips, it is orange with a bit of a metallic sheen, but after a few minutes it fades into a beautiful warm coral red shade with a hint of gold shimmer.

Azalea, Heirloom, and Wistaria are in the new Butter Cream formula, which I really like. The creamy texture is great, making my lips feeling moisturized. I did notice that it lasts a bit longer than the Kisser Slickers.

I requested Linger as my free eye shadow.

And the GWP for that week was Mojave.

Linger is a deep blue-green with some aqua shimmer. Mojave is a shimmery golden beige.

And that was my latest haul from Silk Naturals. My next review is going to be on Sassy Minerals, Urban Decay, and possibly a few other companies I haven't tried yet.

Do you have any recommendations? Thanks in advance. :)

A mini SN haul...

I was in a hurry when I placed my "gumball" order (since they usually sell out in minutes), and I forgot to include a full size of Devoted, so I placed a small order. ;)

I tossed in just a couple of lippies... Mirabelle and Temptation.

I can't believe I almost overlooked these two! They are so pretty! Mirabelle is a gorgeous blend of peach and coral pink with a hint of shimmer, while Temptation is a coral red with some golden shimmer. They do look a bit similar, but Mirabelle is more pinkish, and the shimmer in it looks silver instead of gold.

I loved the cream blushes I previously ordered so I decided to get Devoted as well to match Truly, which has become one of my favorites lately.

I requested Go as my free eye shadow this time.

And the GWP for that week was Trip.

Go is a brilliant shade of mint green with some shimmer. Trip is a nice shimmery light moss green. And Devoted is a pretty coral shade with just a hint of shimmer.

They also sent me a free sample of Poly. I already own Poly, but I love free samples, so I'm still happy to receive one.

Poly is one of my favorite SN eye colors. It's a dupe of MAC's Parrot. It's a gorgeous teal color with a bit of blue and green shimmer.

Finally, I also ordered a jar of Ultra Sheer Zinc Finishing Powder (results TBA). I was a bit surprised to see that the jar was only half full... but I checked the site and read that, "You get one tablespoon in a 30-gram jar." So, it's all good.

I heard Zinc is a highly effective sunscreen, so I'd like to try using it this summer.

Have you tried using Zinc powder? How did you like it? And what kind of sun protection do you use for your face?

Silk Naturals Gumballs!

I love it when Karen does gumballs. It's fun, exciting, and so cheap. A couple of weeks ago, she had a few new lippies for sale from $0.75 to $1.75. You can't beat that!

It's no secret that I am addicted to SN lippies. I've always been a bit obsessed with lip products, and SN has (hands down) the best hand-made organic lippies, and I just can't seem to get enough of them. LOL!

So, I got Bloom, Foreplay, Peace, Sweetheart, Very Berry, and Whirlwind.

Bloom is a dupe of BE's Rose Radiance. It's a sheer light rosy pink. Foreplay is a shimmery warm peach with a touch of pink and gold. Peace is a light nude pink with just a hint of gold sparkle. Sweetheart is a shimmery toned-down red. Very Berry is a vibrant cool pink with some shimmer. And Whirlwind is dupe of Mary Kay's Pink Pout. It's a rosy mauve pink with a hint of brown.

And these are the "gumballs"... Barcelona, Stockholm, Tahitian Vanilla, and St. Tropez.

Barcelona is a gorgeous pinky-mauve with some shimmer. It's a plumping lip gloss, which I really like. It left my lips looking fuller and smoother without any burning or stinging sensation. Stockholm is a sheer plum pink with some shimmer. And St. Tropez is a pretty nude pink liquid lip gloss.

I also like the Tahitian Vanilla lip balm. I don't have any of the old SN lip balms, so I can't compare, but I like the texture and the subtle sweet scent.

I requested 5th Ave as my free eye shadow.

And the GWP for that week was Brooke.

5th Ave is a gorgeous pearlized aqua color. And Brooke is a beautiful shimmery golden khaki with olive undertones.

Have you bought gumballs from Silk Naturals before? What did you get, and did you like them? :)

Silk Naturals Cream Blushes & Lippies!

What? Another SN haul? Uhm, yes... LOL! I'm a little behind on blogging, so please bear with me while I try to play catch up.

Silk Naturals released a few new cream blushes, lip glosses, and eye shadows a little over a month ago, so I got a couple of blushes, a few lippies, a gumball (Cucumber Eye Gel), plus Fuse and Romp. They also sent me a free sample of Rollick.

Cherish and Forever look really close to each other, but Forever is slightly warmer.

Cherish is a lovely rose color, while Forever is a pretty peachy pink color.

I had to get Best Friend since it was a new Black Label lippie, my favorite formula. Genuine was a random GWP that I missed out on, so I'm happy that Karen released this one because it's a gorgeous color. And I was feeling a bit brave so I decided to add a couple more reds to my collection... Bitten and Hot Blooded.

Here are some swatches...

Best Friend is the lippie version of Forever. It's a beautiful blend of peach and pink. Genuine is a sheer brilliant rose color, like Cherish. Bitten is a perfect true red, neither warm nor cool, while Hot Blooded is a sheer sexy shimmery muted red.

I requested Romp as my free eye shadow.

And Fuse was the GWP that week. Yes, it looks a bit like cement in the jar, but it looks really beautiful on the skin. You'll see... ;)

Romp is a vibrant purple shade with blue interference. So pretty! Fuse is a grey color tinged with olive and gold, which I really like. And Rollick is a nice combination of deep blue and purple with a bit of shimmer. I might get a full size of this one later.

Oh, and I almost forgot the gumball... Cucumber Eye Gel for under-eye puffiness. I applied a small, pea-sized amount of this clear gel under my eyes, and I noticed a tightening effect right away, reducing the puffiness. This will not treat the dark under-eye circles though (I wish), but it definitely works for puffiness, so I hope Karen releases this eye gel someday.

So, have you tried any eye serums for puffiness and/or dark circles? From what brand? Did you get good results?

Silk Naturals Skin Care Samples!

I ordered a few skin care samples from Silk Naturals a few weeks ago.

I got the Apricot Cleansing Oil, which I really liked. It does the job really well, removing make up, dirt and grime without stripping the skin of its natural oils and moisture. The Kiss Foaming Cleanser works really well too. Both cleansers are gentle yet effective, so I plan to purchase a large bottle of each later.

I tried the 8% AHA Toner, but I had a negative reaction to it. I developed a raised red rash on my skin after application. (Why must my skin be so damn sensitive?) It wasn't itchy, and the redness went away after a few minutes, but I discontinued use. Next on my list is the Pore Refining Toner. I'll post an update later.

I used the Hemp Moisturizer as well, and it made my skin look and feel soft. After that was all gone, I started using the Daily Defense Moisturizer, but it caused me to break out. :(

I also ordered the Firming Moisturizer and Intensive Moisturizer (both w/ CoQ10 and Renovage), but I haven't gotten a chance to try them yet. I'll keep you all posted (hopefully with some good results). I grabbed both Microdermabrasion Cream and Gel plus a few serums (Facelift Vitamin C, DMAE & Peptide Serum, Green Tea and Aloe Hydrating Serum, Oatmeal Hydrating Serum, and Rose Hydrating Serum). Can you tell I really needed some moisture and hydration? LOL

I added a couple of their organic vegan lipsticks (Eternal and Sultry) and liquid lip glosses (Summer Fling and Vintage).

When I first opened these, I was afraid they would be too dark or muddy, but that wasn't the case when swatched on my hand (and worn on my lips).

Here are a few swatches...

Eternal is a dupe of MAC's Twig. It's a fairly neutral mauve-pink that isn't too bright or too brown. It goes with absolutely everything, and it looks natural and flattering. Sultry is a dupe of MAC's Brick-O-La. It's a lovely berry red. I'm usually afraid of wearing reds, but this one works well with me. Both Eternal and Sultry are richly pigmented, long-lasting, and not drying at all.

Summer Fling is a lovely rosy pink color with some shimmer. Vintage is a gorgeous shimmery wine red. The liquid lip glosses don't last as long as the lipsticks, but I really like how moisturizing it is. I just wish they come in a larger container.

I requested Charmed as my free eye shadow.

Charmed is a dupe of MAC's Juxt. It's a nice pastel green with a hint of gold shimmer. The texture is amazing, and it blends like a dream (like the rest of their eye shadows). They also sent me a free sample of Plush, which looks nothing like the photo on the SN site, but it's a great color. It's a beautiful purple shade with some copper interference.

The Gift With Purchase for that week was My Pretty, which is a lip-plumping lip gloss.

My Pretty is a nice lilac pink color. The formula is nice. I feel that it plumps my lips without drying them out.

So... have you tried any of Silk Naturals skin care products? How do you like them? I'm thinking of trying Garden of Wisdom next. Any thoughts or other recommendations? Thanks in advance! :)

Fyrinnae Haul & Swatches!

I don't have many posts about Fyrinnae, but they are one of my favorites right now. What's not to like? Their shades are mind-blowingly complex and unique! The texture is pretty smooth and easy to blend. Their sample sizes are generous (about 1/3 tsp), and their prices are affordable. Okay, it does take them a while to process your order, but it's well worth the wait. ;)

Anyway, here's my latest haul.

Faerie Glamour is my #1 favorite, and since it was recently enhanced for more vibrancy, I ordered another full size.

I LOVE the Arcane Magic eye shadows, so I grabbed a few samples of the shades that have been added since my last purchase. When I first opened these, my initial reaction was, "OH MAI GAH! LOVE!"

They sent me a free sample of Sleepy Hollow. I love blue-greens, and I love gold sparkles, so I may have to get a full size of this one.

Okay, on to some swatches...

Faerie Glamour is (hands down) the most gorgeous eye shadow I've ever seen. Electric Stardust shifts from a shimmering mint to aquamarine. So pretty! Futuristic Glamrock (love the name) looks like a metallic sky blue here, but it shifts to a lovely lilac shade when the angle is changed. Glitterboi is a sparkling navy blue that changes to a deep, dark purple. Leopard-Print Galaxy shifts from a sparkling coppery yellow-green to a bright olive color, depending on the angle or lighting. Pyromantic Erotica changes from an intense metallic orange peel color to a pumpkin shade. Sequined Master is a beautiful bold purple with a high radiant sheen that shifts to a dark shade of purple. Velvet Vampire shifts from burnt red to purple-red to a reddish brown shade with gold sparkles. And last but not the least, Sleepy Hollow, which is a medium-deep blue-green with gold sparkles.

I'm obviously very happy with my order. In fact, I might place another one very soon. Has any of you tried their Lip Lustres? How do you like them? What are your favorites? I'm thinking of grabbing a few mini tubes (as if I need any more lippies haha).

Note: Fyrinnae is having a sale on a few selected items. The Pixie Epoxy (I LOVE this stuff! One of my HG!) has been marked down.

Spice Mineral Cosmetics Eye Shadows

About a couple of month ago, I was introduced to Spice Mineral Cosmetics. I met the owner (Monica) on one of the forums I frequent (Chanty's MMU forum). Monica offered me 300 points (a generous $30 value redeemable at any time)! So, I went to their site and placed my first order.

I ordered their eye shadow collection sets... Flower Power (1st row), Inferno! (2nd row), and Like, Totally! (3rd row). Each eye shadow came packaged in a 5-gram shrink-wrapped jar with a sealed sifter.

The Flower Power collection includes 4 matte mineral eye shadows. Moss is a hazy gray-green color. Everglade is a really nice dark shade of blue-green. Creme Brulee is a creamy beige shade. And Chestnut is a reddish brown color.

The Inferno! collection includes 4 shimmer eye shadows. Black Ice is a pure black with some shimmer. Pharaoh is a soft, gently shimmering gold. Odyssey is a brilliant shimmery electric blue. It’s bold, but totally wearable. And Starlight is a silver-white shimmer.

And my favorite collection... Like, Totally! It includes 4 shimmering eye shadows. Shock! is a pretty shimmering shocking pink. Caribbean Blue is a beautiful ocean blue with some shimmer. Tealepathy is a sheer but buildable teal-green with golden shimmer. I LOVE THIS ONE! Royalty is one of their best sellers, and I can see why. It's a gorgeous mix of shimmery royal blue and royal purple.

These are all ultra-wearable and superbly blendable. They have a soft and silky smooth lightweight texture that glides easily onto eyelids. With a primer, they don't crease on me, and they last all day.

Unfortunately, they don't offer samples of anything other than their foundations, but their prices are very affordable. Each eye shadow is individually priced at $6.50 (special price), and the collections are only $20 per set.

The owner is really nice, and the products are of high quality, so I will definitely buy from them again. I think I might try their blushes next. Amaranth and Bashful are both on my wishlist.
