Silk Naturals Spring 2011 Lip Swatches

Here are some lip swatches as per request.

My bare lips for reference:

Silk Naturals Doll Lip Stain:

Silk Naturals Gigi Lip Stain:

Silk Naturals Crazy Love Lipstick:

Silk Naturals Showstopper Kisser Slicker:

Silk Naturals Creampuff Amplifying Lip Glaze:

Silk Naturals Electra Amplifying Lip Glaze:

And this one's for Frckls who requested side-by-side swatches of Showstopper and Azalea. They do look very similar, but Showstopper is brighter and cooler than Azalea.

Click on the image to enlarge.

I also went ahead and included Shrieking Violet, Crazy Love, and Hibiscus. Crazy Love looks like the lipstick version of Shrieking Violet. Hibiscus is similar in tone to Showstopper, but Hibiscus is a bit more sheer and has a frost finish.

If you have any other requests, please let me know.

Thanks for reading and taking the time to comment. :)

Silk Naturals Spring 2011 Lippies and Blushes Review & Swatches

As part of their Spring 2011 collection, Silk Naturals recently released some new lip products. Of course, the addict in me couldn't resist, so I ordered a few lippies. I also added Adorn so I could reach the $30 minimum order and request a free eyeshadow of my choice (Godiva).

Biscayne is this week's gift with purchase, and they kindly included free samples of their new blushes Candie, Diablo, and Folly.

Doll is a vivid red-pink lip stain.

Gigi is a bright strawberry pink lip stain.

Crazy Love is a shimmery blue pink lipstick.

Showstopper is a shimmery bright fuchsia pink lip gloss.

Creampuff is a sheer rosy pink amplifying lip glaze with silver shimmer.

Electra is a sheer plummy pink amplifying lip glaze with copper and purple sparkles.

Candie is a very light pink blush with a touch of golden shimmer. It's pretty sheer and barely showed up on my medium skin tone. I think those with lighter skin tones would like this best. Diablo is a bright orange-red that looks intimidating at first, but don’t let this shade scare you. If applied with a very light hand, it would look beautiful on most skintones. Folly is a lavender pink with a hint of shimmer. I think it would work on light to medium skin tones, but it may be ashy on deeper skin tones.

Overall, I think the lip stains are great. The colors (Doll and Gigi) are amazing and very long lasting. The amplifying lip glazes are nice too. There is a slight tingle, but the feeling goes away quickly. Creampuff and Electra go on quite sheer, and the shimmer particles have a tendency to settle into my lip lines a bit, but both colors are so beautiful! My personal favorites are Crazy Love and Showstopper. Such fabulous colors! Both of them are extremely moisturizing and give a very nice, glossy look when applied to lips. Last but not the least, the blushes are lovely, very spring-y, and certainly worth checking out.

Let me know if you'd like to see some lip swatches, and I'll try to get them done today or tomorrow.

The rest of the colors can be viewed at SilkNaturals.com.

Are you getting anything from this collection? Do you like lip stains and/or lip plumpers? Which ones do you recommend?

Wet ‘n’ Wild 8-Pan Color Icon Eyeshadow Palette Review & Swatches

I have never tried Wet 'n' Wild until recently. To be honest, I avoided drugstore makeup for a while because most of the products I've tried didn't work for me. I just thought maybe "you get what you pay for". However, after having read so many great reviews about Wet 'n' Wild, I decided to try their Color Icon Eyeshadows, and I'm really glad I did because these are AMAZING!

Petal Pusher is the first Color Icon palette that I've tried, and I must say I am very impressed. I love the colors and the rich buttery feel to the shadows!

The first column features a whitened lavender browbone color, which goes on very sheer, a lavender pink eyelid color with gorgeous golden shimmer, a dark purple crease color with a frost finish, and a dark blue violet definer color with silver sparkles.

The second column contains a pale baby pink browbone color with a frost finish, a red-toned mauve eyelid color with copper shimmer, a burgundy black crease color with purplish red sparkles, and a charcoal black definer color with silver sparkles.

Blue Had Me At Hello includes some really fun and bold colors to play around with. I think this may be the most pigmented out of the three 8-pan palettes.

The first column is made up of a whitened silver browbone color with a frost finish, a very frosty silver eyelid color, a black crease color with blue sparkles, and a matte black definer color.

The second column is composed of a pale powder blue browbone color with a frost finish, a frosty aqua-teal eyelid color (I just LOVE this one), a frosty navy blue crease color, and a black definer color with silver sparkles.

Comfort Zone is my personal favorite out of the three 8-pan palettes, and it's one of my most reached for palettes right now because the colors are great for work.

The first column includes a shimmery whitened gold browbone color, a metallic rose gold eyelid color, a shimmery bronze crease color, and a very deep brown definer color with copper sparkles.

The second column consists of a silvery taupe browbone color with green highlights, a spring green eyelid color with gold shimmer, a blackened olive green crease color with golden shimmer, and a deep reddened brown definer color with a blue green iridescence, which is a really beautiful duochrome color.

Overall, I love these palettes. The texture of these eyeshadows are very soft, buttery, easy to apply, and easy to blend. They are highly pigmented, and they last all day without creasing over a primer. Sure, the packaging is not the best, but who cares when the quality is absolutely amazing, and at $4.99, it really is a steal! I'm so glad I bought these!

So, who else loves these Wet 'n' Wild palettes?

Urban Decay Naked Palette Review & Swatches

I've been wanting to get my hands on the Naked palette for the longest time, so when Sephora restocked this item, I placed an order right away.

I received one with a travel-sized bottle of Urban Decay Original Primer Potion and a double-ended 24/7 Liner with Zero on one side and Whiskey on the other. (I believe Urban Decay recently replaced this with a Good Karma Eyeshadow Brush.)

Virgin, Sin, Naked, Sidecar...

Buck, Half Baked, Smog, Darkhorse...

Toasted, Hustle, Creep, Gunmetal...

These were swatched dry over UDPP. Click on the image to enlarge.

Virgin is a shimmery pale beige. A very nice highlight color.
Sin is a frosty champagne pink.
Naked is a matte medium neutral tan.
Sidecar is a shimmery medium brown with hints of gold.
Buck is a matte dark brown. A great crease color.
Half Baked is a metallic golden bronze. I LOVE this one!
Smog is a shimmery coppery bronze. One of my favorites!
Darkhorse is a dark chocolate brown with golden highlights.
Toasted is a shimmery medium warm tan.
Hustle is a rich chocolate brown with a subtle shimmer.
Creep is a blue-black with a touch of silver shimmer.
Gunmetal is a metallic dark blue-gray.

I must say this palette is amazing and lives up to the hype! I own quite a few palettes, and this is definitely one of my favorites. You can create so many different looks from natural... to bronzy... or smoky.

The quality and pigmentation of each shadow is excellent. I did not experience any creasing or fading (with primer). My personal favorites are Sin, Half Baked, Smog, and Darkhorse, but Naked and Buck really surprised me. I was not a huge fan of matte eye shadows until I tried these two mattes. They are very soft with a smooth texture... not powdery or chalky.

Did you get Naked yet? Or are you going to?

Silk Naturals Spring 2011 Eyeshadows Review & Swatches

Silk Naturals released their Spring 2011 Collection a couple of weeks ago, and Karen kindly sent me 12 of their fresh new colors.

Click on the images to enlarge.

Zero is an opaque pearly white.

Juiced is a pale creamy gold with very fine golden shimmer.

Daquiri is a golden peach color with a pearl finish.

Pink Lemonade is a light pink shade with a slight iridescent golden shimmer. This is such a beautiful color!

Jellybean is a lovely pink color with a suede finish. Not too bright and not too light.

Watermelon is a warm pink shade with just enough gold shimmer.

Sorbet is a deep pinkish red with purple undertones.

Surge is a lavender color with light pink interference.

Wired is a really nice purple shade with multi-colored shimmer.

Zest is a lime green color with a pearl finish. This is gorgeous!

Tingle is a mint green with blue and silver shimmer.

Neuron is a blue-green color with lots of blue and golden shimmer.

Overall, this is a fun and refreshing collection. Most of the eyeshadows have a suede/pearl finish. They all have good pigmentation with an extremely soft and smooth texture. I think this might be my favorite SN collection so far! I love all the colors, especially Neuron, Tingle, and Zest. Pink Lemonade, Sorbet, and Surge are also gorgeous and worth checking out.

So, are you getting anything from this collection?
