MAC released five new and limited edition lipstick shades for the holidays.
From L to R: Exclusive Event, Flair for Finery, Prepare for Pleasure, Private Party, and You’ve Got It...
MAC Exclusive Event Lipstick:
Exclusive Event is medium-dark taupe brown with a Satin finish. I thought it would be similar to MAC Nude, but Exclusive Event is much grayer and cooler-toned. Personally, I prefer Nude as it looks more flattering on my skintone, while Exclusive Event gave me that corpse look. I've seen it look nice on others though.
MAC Flair for Finery Lipstick:
Flair for Finery is a light cool pinky nude with a Lustre finish. It looked like a nice nude when swatched on my arm, but it just didn't do anything for me when I wore it on my lips. It looks lovely on others, but it was quite pale on me.
MAC Prepare for Pleasure Lipstick:
Prepare for Pleasure is a cool-toned pinky-red with a Cremesheen finish. It’s a beautiful red that I think would look great on most skintones. It's perfect for the holidays.
MAC Private Party Lipstick:
Private Party is a muted plummy mauve with a Satin finish. It was smooth and creamy with an opaque color coverage and a subtle sheen. I can’t get enough of this color, and I'm glad I purchased it.
MAC You’ve Got It Lipstick:
You’ve Got It is a pale pink with gold frost. I really like how this looks in the tube and on my arm, but not so much on my lips. It is definitely more like a layering shade as it was not easy for me to wear on its own. It felt and looked a little dry on the lips.
My favorites here are Prepare for Pleasure and Private Party. Exclusive Event was too gray for me. Flair for Finery was too light. You’ve Got It was nice, but I prefer something that I can wear on its own without the dryness. If any of these lipsticks interest you, check them out in stores if possible to see if any of these shades look good on you.
